Palace Resorts will debut its second property, Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos, in Mexico this fall, following the opening of Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun. Located on the Baja California Peninsula, the new beachfront adults-only resort will feature 373 well-appointed designer suites with Bvlgari bath amenities, mini bars, and private terraces, which will offer panoramic ocean views and seating areas. The award-winning full-service BlancSpa will include 25 treatment rooms and a hydrotherapy facility, a fitness and wellness centre with personal trainers, juice bars, and four plunge pools. For a fine dining experience, head to the resort’s signature restaurant, Lumiere, which will serve a seven-course French tasting menu paired with carefully selected wines.

Marriott Opens in Italy

Marriott has launched Four Points by Sheraton Venice Mestre in the heart of Italy’s ancient city. The hotel features 168 contemporary rooms and suites, including one of the city’s largest suites, across nine floors. All suites are equipped with 40-inch LCD flatscreen TVs, minibars, and Four Points signature beds, complemented by floor-to-ceiling windows. Connecting rooms are available for bigger groups, while other facilities include an elegant Italian restaurant, a fitness centre, and a beautiful garden. Families with kids can take advantage of the Children’s Programme, and enjoy a meal together at one of three on-property dining outlets after a day out. Unwind at the Point Bar, and enjoy the hotel’s garden views with a glass of wine or cocktail.

New Volcanic Tour

United Kingdom-based volcano tour specialist Volcanic Experiences has launched a new itinerary for escorted small groups looking to explore the geological features of Spain’s Canary Islands. Departing January 29, the itinerary starts with a transfer from Tenerife by fast ferry to San Sebastian de la Gomera, where guests will visit Laguna Grande National Park and embark on a boat excursion to see Los Organos, famed for its dramatic basalt cliffs. Later, visitors will return to Tenerife to walk across the scenic Anaga mountains in the island’s northwest, home to the giant caldera of La Canadas. While exploring the older Teno volcano in the west, travellers will hike the steep spiral road to access historic Masca village. A local geological guide and geologist Alan Clewlow will accompany the group and give explanation during all excursions.

Luxury Suites on the Rails

Experience the ultimate luxury accommodation onboard Belmond’s historic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, which will launch three new private Grand Suites in March. The new luxury suites will include private bathrooms with showers, double beds and separate living areas. Taking their names from the romantic cities to which the train travels – Paris, Venice, and Istanbul – each cabin will have interiors by London-based Wimberly Interiors inspired by the spirit of each city while reflecting 1920s art-deco design. The Istanbul-themed cabin will feature hand carved timber and embossed leather; Paris’ distinctive gastronomic scene is referenced with chic and elegant furnishings; the Venice cabin features silk fabrics and handcrafted Venetian glass, which complements the baroque-style furnishings. Guests travelling in one of the three new suites will enjoy private transfers to and from the train, free-flowing champagne, and private in-suite dining, as well as bespoke amenities and a complimentary art-deco bathrobe.

Dedicated to wellness-conscious guests, Conrad Macao’s award-winning Bodhi Spa has added Asia’s
first Himalayan Salt Stone Massage treatment to its spa menu. Delivering more health benefits than traditional hot stone massages, the new massage offers a therapeutic treatment using Saltability’s organic salt stones, mined from the Himalayas. With 84 naturally occurring minerals and elements, the pink Himalayan salt helps stimulate the body’s circulation and detoxification, as well as improving sleep and reducing inflammation. The stones are warmed to the perfect temperature before being used in a deep pressure massage that releases muscle tension and soreness. Combining a massage, heat and minerals, this pampering experience also helps to achieve a greater sense of relaxation.

The brand’s first property on the Aegean Sea, Lux Bodrum has opened on Turkey’s Aegean Riviera. The Ritz-Carlton will enter the high-end yachting and cruises industry, when it launches the first of its three luxury cruising yachts in the fourth quarter of 2019. Bringing the brand’s luxury offerings and hospitality to sea, with voyages ranging from seven to ten days, the first ship from The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection will cruise the Mediterranean, northern Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America, as well as unique locations less accessible to large cruise ships, such as Capri and Portofino, and St. Barths. The vessel will measure 190-metres, accommodating up to 298 passengers, and will feature 149 suites with private balconies, as well as two lavish duplex penthouse suites. Entertainment offerings include the brand’s three Michelin-starred restaurant, Wolfsburg, along with the signature Ritz-Carlton Spa, the Panorama Lounge, and a wine bar.

In collaboration with the Thalasso Research Centre at Milan University, Acquaforte will open at Sardinia’s Forte Village Resort on October 1, 2017. Set to become the Italian island’s first medical spa, the new property spans 49 hectares of scenic gardens along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Featuring the healing properties of sea water, Acquaforte’s medical team will offer four bespoke Roman sea spa-inspired experiences that come along with a daily activity programme. These four or seven-day programmes focus on anti-aging, Thalasso detox, healthiness and weight-loss, allowing travellers the chance to indulge in a series of rejuvenating experiences.
